Kia has seen the same first appearance in demand for its new EV6 as for the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
Kia announced that on the first day of its special website in South Korea alone, more than 21,000 potential customers have applied to book online for the upcoming electric car EV6.
This is an excellent result, almost in line with the 23,760 pre-orders for the Ioniq 5 (in 24 hours) reported by Hyundai (also in South Korea).
As a reminder, the Kia EV6 was unveiled on March 30, 2021 and will hit the market in the second half of this year. Moreover, it is not reported how many people in Europe have expressed a desire to reserve a car, but the demand for a novelty in the Old World will also be quite high.
In Europe, the Kia EV6 can be pre-ordered with a refundable deposit of just € 100. The company plans to start accepting orders in May, with the first deliveries of cars to customers scheduled for September.
All in all, the Kia EV6 will hit the market a few months after the Hyundai Ioniq 5, an electric car based on the same E-GMP platform, but with a completely different style.
Customers who book in advance on April 30, 2021 and place an order on December 31, 2021, will receive several nice bonuses, including access to the IONITY one-year charging network, as well as a one-year subscription to KiaCharge (approximately 210,000 charging points for across Europe , including AC and DC connections).
