A stable burned down at the Benedictine monastery near Einsiedeln. The fire department was able to prevent the flames from spreading to a biogas installation.
A fire broke out on a farm near Einsiedeln SZ shortly after 9pm Monday night. “I went jogging and saw the smoke and bright flames from afar,” writes a news scout.
The Schwyz cantonal police confirmed the fire in a stable in Trachslau SZ in a media statement. When the fire department arrived, the building was already on fire. They were able to prevent the fire from spreading to an adjacent biogas plant and a residential area.
No one was injured. However, two calves could not be rescued in time. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
