Art thief arrested – van Gogh’s works are still missing
Dutch police arrested a 58-year-old man last year on suspicion of two spectacular art thefts. The sets of paintings, one of which by post-impressionist Vincent van Gogh, have not yet been found.
“Spring Garden” by Vincent van Gogh (1884).
“Spring garden” (spring garden), the setting of Gogh’s painting, is estimated at more than 60 million Swedish kronor. The painting was painted early in the artist’s career and therefore does not share the intense color scheme and the expressive slingshots that later came to characterize his work.
