Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease, with the immune system fighting the body.
About 8,000 people with multiple sclerosis live in Slovakia. "The number of patients can be increased by early diagnosis and especially by extending the patient's life," Jarmila Fajnorová, president of the Slovak Scleroris Multiplex (SZSM), told TASR.
This disease affects the central nervous system, brain and spinal cord. It is an autoimmune disease, a disease in which the immune system fights the body. Attacks and damages nerve fibers in particular.
When someone is embarrassed, it is often said to have sclerosis. Neurologist Branislav Brezhny, however, says there are no sclerosis-like sclerosis. If the disease affects the cerebral cortex responsible for the mental function, the clinical symptoms of the patient with vasculature are evident. TASR Brezhny says, "Curing sclerosis is also called multiple sclerosis because it has a lot of disease deposits and is scattered throughout the brain.
It can take several years from the first symptom to the development of the clinical symptoms of the disease. Often the first symptoms are tiredness, weakness and tingling of the limbs. "The neurologist adds that blindness, urinary incontinence, balance disturbances and walking traps are present in the patient," he notes.
The cause of the disease is unknown.
"Cure hardening multiplexes are varied and often silent, so you can confuse your head with an experienced neurologist who is not easy to diagnose," Brezhny said, but the most serious problem is the limitation of exercise and fatigue is. The patient will not go in without just moving. It should suddenly weaken and relax during small movements. For more severe motor disorders, the patient uses a walking stick, French bar, walker and wheelchair. The effect on the soft handwheel becomes more difficult.
Experts do not yet know the exact cause. The infection may be a virus infection. "Over one hundred viruses have been diagnosed after infection," Brezhny predicted, adding that the increased hygiene standards of the environment, population, stress, nutritional habits or allergies would be affected. Vitamin D deficiency and smoking, especially for young women. "
Women are more likely to occur.
"Stiff stenosis does not occur from race to race, but it occurs more frequently in the home where the disease has already occurred," says a neurologist who appears about three times longer in women in their teens and twenties. According to SZSM, MS is the most common neurological disorder that causes disability.
As a major advance in the treatment and diagnosis of MS, the neurologist considers the introduction of new imaging tests and medical practice. "Magnetic resonance imaging is the only imaging method that can confirm damage to nerve fiber packaging. We also map the effect of the treatment," Brezhny says.
As the research progresses, new biological therapies have emerged that can complement MS. "In the past, patients have been diagnosed with skeletal disorders for a short period of time, and women have not been recommended to have children," says SZSM. "Today's patients have a lifetime of care, care for their family, and disability has changed for more than 15 years."
The most important thing is diet.
Treatment with modern medicines is financially difficult, but the health insurance company in Slovakia is fully compensated. Approximately 2,000 patients are receiving treatment in the country and in 2016 the health insurance company has exceeded € 44 million. However, the union said the patient is paying for vitamin supplements and emollients, such as muscle relaxants and pain.
"In the Multiple Sclerosis Treatment Center, I would like to have an outpatient clinic in addition to an outpatient neurology that can immediately treat the recurrence of the disease, that is, the sudden onset of the illness and the illness of the illness. Other medical services like ophthalmologists, urologists, rehabilitation athletes, We need specialists, sociologists or lawyers. We want comprehensive treatment in one place in some western European countries, "Fajnor said.
Stretching with other patients is part of psychotherapy.
In labor, social affairs, and home offices, patients can receive a variety of compensation aids, unobstructed apartment refurbishments, or donations for the purchase of vehicles needed for individual transportation, depending on the extent of the disability. Social insurance companies can apply for invalid pensions.
SZSM targets 25 clubs in Slovakia. For members and others, they organize educational activities and workshops of various physical activities, mainly with practical demonstrations. Repair is also maintained. "As part of the SZSM's annual activities, an integral part of the SZSM's annual activities is abil-vision, a competent test for the skills and skills of people with disabilities," FZNM says. "Meeting with multiple sclerosis is part of psychotherapy."
