Successful entrepreneur Elon Musk, CEO of Neuralink, wants to achieve a symbiosis between the human brain and artificial intelligence, writes Aleph News, who quotes Business Insider. That Mural’s team at Neuralink is currently working on developing a revolutionary neuronal interface technology.
Through microchips implanted in the brain, researchers can record and stimulate brain activity.
Neuralink was founded by Elon Musk in 2016. In 2019, he stated that the company’s goal is to control “the existential risk associated with artificial super-intelligence.” In his opinion, “we can not be smarter than a digital supercomputer, so if you can not beat them, do so.”
Elon Musk claimed in 2020 that people will soon be able to “preserve and restore memories” or telepathically communicate with their car. However, experts doubt that these statements are true.
The microchip developed by Neuralink is the size of a coin and can be inserted into a patient’s skull. This chip will be connected to the human brain by means of wires 20 times thinner than a hair. The wires are equipped with 1,024 electrodes that can monitor brain activity and, Neuralink hopes, electrically stimulate the brain. The data is transmitted wirelessly via the chip, and then studied by researchers.
Elon Musk is considered the man who changes humanity. Looking at his entire activity so far, he has achieved what he set out to do. From PayPal, the online payment system, to Tesla and SpaceX, with the help of it, it aims to populate other planets and now, Neuralink.
