Pianist Olga Prats died today, aged 82, at her home in Parede, Cascais, a victim of cancer, said Lusa, composer Srgio Azevedo, who was her friend.
During her nearly 70-year career, Olga Prats has focused on chamber music, marking contemporary production.
In addition to Fernando Lopes-Graa, she was also a close collaborator of other composers, such as Constana Capdeville and Victorino d’Almeida. Each dedicated pieces to her and the pianist debuted several of her compositions.
He taught until November 2008 at the National Conservatory and at the Lisbon School of Music.
