What we thought
So there are a lot of things I like about the new S60. It is certainly more dynamic than its predecessor and is the most sporty model in its range.
In our commissioning, the S60 T6 is a true competitor to the segment leaders of the premium sports sedan class, but perhaps the biggest hurdle is actually bringing people into the showroom and allowing them to evaluate real-world power and functionality through commissioning.
Like all other new Volvo models sold today, the S60 will be impressed with its look, features, safety equipment and performance figures at the showroom level.
The only problem preventing the segment from becoming a bestseller is Malaysia's buying awareness of the Malaysian rival, the Volvo brand.
This is taking time. And with Geely's financing, Volvo has time. Malaysian buyers will miss the premium experience.
