Netflix launches eight original films and one original series in India


Netflix has announced plans to offer more original content to the Indian market. In a recent inauguration event in Asia, "What's Next: Asia," the company has released eight original movies and one original series.

Reed Hastings, CEO, Netflix and Ted Sarandos, Netflix's Senior Content Officer joined Indian performers and producers to announce a new content lineup. The showcase also includes updates to the four previously released Indian original series. The event was a celebration of the fast-growing variety of content in India.

New releases include chopsticks, Bulbul, Upstarts, Cobalt Blue, August 15 Music Teacher, Hotel Mumbai, and a movie titled Firebrand, and the series is called a typewriter.

"We congratulate India on the amazing lineup of original movies and series that are now being filmed across India, crossing the genre from horror to fantasy to genres ranging from lesbian to Mumbai.
