An early study … Weight gain prolongs life!

A new study shows that if there is an intention to increase body weight, it is better for people to start puberty with a normal weight and then gradually gain the extra pounds.

According to a report published by the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, researchers from Ohio State University examined data for two generations, residents of Framingham, Massachusetts, between the ages of 31 and 80 years, and found that people who are normal weights were in adulthood and later became overweight, provided they do not suffer from obesity, they live longer.

Surprisingly, adults who fit this definition live longer than those adults whose body weights have been in the normal range for their entire lives.

It also showed that those who were obese in adulthood and continued to gain weight had the highest mortality.

Advice for young people

The study found that today’s younger generation suffers from obesity and obesity earlier in life than their parents and is more likely to die associated with increased obesity.

While the researchers do not recommend that adults consciously gain weight, with a body mass index (BMI) greater than 25, they suggest that adding a few pounds may be appropriate at a later stage in life.

In addition, the researchers warned that this increase does not translate into obesity, which begins with a body mass index greater than or equal to 30.
