World Diabetes Day – Riga – held in Riga



Today, World Diabetes Day will take place in Riga, where the role of the family in patient care will be realized, an open social campaign will begin and professional counseling will be provided.

This event will provide statistics on the prevalence of diabetes in Latvia, provide practical advice to diabetics and their colleagues, experience diabetic patients experience and describe social experiments.

Marta Lagzdins, the representative of the Latvian Diabetes Center, announced the launch of the "Strength of Current Diabetes" campaign in Latvia to raise public awareness of the spread of diabetes and raise awareness among people. This event includes consultation with endocrinologists and dietitians for diabetes prevention and treatment, healthy eating and physical activity.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in Latvia, 29,492 people suffered from diabetes in 2001 and 91,561 people were diagnosed by 2017.
