Homeowners' cooperatives are eligible for EU and State aid

Landlord co-operatives may qualify for future qualifications to obtain European Union (EU) and provincial support qualifications, as outlined in the draft regulations of the Ministry of Agriculture (MOW) on conformity assessment of cooperative societies submitted to coordination coordination .

In the comments of the ZM project, domestic co-operatives have not been able to attain conformity status so far, but since Latvia has gathered agricultural producers, small processors of agricultural products, small amounts of alcoholic beverage producers and craftsmen, . This status confirms that the cooperatives operate according to the basic principles and nature of the cooperations. The draft regulations include standards that cooperatives must meet in order to qualify for housing construction.

In general, the draft regulations largely maintain the norms contained in the rules that assess the suitability of agricultural service cooperatives and forest service cooperatives. As a result of eligibility, cooperatives can continue to require a variety of support tools, as well as EU and national support, in the rural development program 2014-2020. Likewise, they will have access to other means of support, such as credit guarantees, and will continue to provide state support for loans to purchase working capital.

Eligibility is granted for one year.

The terms will be effective July 1, 2019. The government is expected to make a final decision on these provisions in early 2019 to ensure that cooperatives are aware of timely policy changes and that their activities in 2019 meet established criteria.
