Christmas night battlefield. Part 1 "Elijah Dream" / LR1 / / Latvian Radio

Poet and rifle – Janis Akuraters, Karlis Skalbes, Edvars Virzas Memories of the First World War, when they were all together in one of the Fifth Regiments of Jumumale, were led by Jukums Vācietis. All three poets saw the same war scene. And each of them left his testimony.

In the summer of 1914, World War I began. John Akuraters wrote that World War II "wrote suddenly his dreams and destiny," as he suddenly made the end of his life in the sunlight, intercepting his mysterious sword.

Janis Akuraters, Karlis Skalbe and Edvars Virza volunteered to join the Russian army established in the Russian army in the fall of 1916.

On November 23, 1916, Jānis Akuraters talked to Latvian officers about his mission to perform in his diary, and notes that one of them wrote a war chronology. And the history of the Latvian regiment must be written so that each master can later read for his family in the name of his spouse on Sunday morning. Although initially a special strategy for Latvian warlords, Yemuga Vācietis, commander of the Gemgale regiment, did not include poets, artists, and musicians in the first battle of the army, but did not dispatch them to sanitary, correspondent, and war chronist missions In such a situation of abusing elaborate and sensitive warriors, a pile of bodies, the aesthetic experience of those who have disturbed death and the courage of soldiers, and the patriotic artistic language that can inspire the rifles of Latvia. It was the way of our country.
