Calgary, Voting Bowls Winter Olympics 2026. Competition remains in Milan-Cortina and Stockholm

Candidate Calgary's bid for the 2026 Winter Olympics appears to have died after citizens opposed plans to host the Olympic Games. Despite the non-binding referendum, the fifteen City Councils in Calgary that have already expressed favorably should yield to the will of the citizens. The Canadian city hosted the Olympics in 1988.

Milan's candidate for Italy and the candidate for Cortina di Ampezzo will have the only remaining competitor in Stockholm, but the provincial government faces a difficult government situation because it does not support the review in five regions in 2026.
