Google's "Android Go" operating system, designed for budget mobile phones, is still strong, with the forthcoming Galaxy J4 Core being an example.
The device mentioned in the Android Police is the next generation of Samsung's Galaxy J2 Core and was first launched in August. The J4 specification certainly has nothing to write about home, but it is suitable for emerging markets that are not familiar with the high-performance specifications commonly found in mainstream smartphones.
By design, the J4 core probably will not blow your mind. The top and bottom bezels are relatively thick compared to other modern smartphones (including budget options), but still look very thin. It is not clear what level of dust / water resistance you have and you do not know what kind of glass you are using.
J4 has a quad-core CPU (running at 1.4Ghz), 1GB of RAM, 16GB of micro SD storage (upgradeable to 512GB), 8MP F2.2 rear camera, 5MP front camera and 720x1480p screen.
The screen is low-resolution, but the device itself is only six inches, so it will not be as noticeable as a high-end smartphone. The J4's battery capacity is 3,300 mAh for low-end phones, but far from industry standards.
Apart from the specs, we do not know what the cost of the Galaxy J4 core is and it is not clear when the smartphone will be released. However, you can quickly browse through the entire specification sheet with a few images from Samsung's official website.
