Leading IT services company Mindtree announced Wednesday that it has jointly signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for advanced research on AI (artificial intelligence) at the technology hub.
"This partnership will promote the artificial intelligence teaching and research for data science and natural language processing and introduce students to the Institute to solve modern business problems using artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML) The company said in a statement.
As part of the alliance, a fund named Mindtree Associate Professor Chair on AI will be established to attract faculty for AI research.
The founding chairman will be led by Professor Vijay Natarajan of the Institute of Computer Science and Automation of the Institute.
In a related field of 12 years, Natarajan works on scientific visualization, computational topology and computational geometry.
