Dentists warn: Disease "chalk teeth" lashes teeth

According to medical practitioners, a disease that can lead to major tooth damage is becoming increasingly commonplace. Here, the teeth gradually crumble.

Berlin – Dentists warn against so-called chalk teeth in children. In this disease, back teeth, but also teeth, respond to sensitivity to heat, cold or chemical stimuli.

"Chalk teeth": Raine tooth surface, caries, pain

The teeth have a rough surface and are torn – which caries promotes, dentists report. Children have had pain in drinking, eating and brushing their teeth. Causes are the disturbances in the mineralization of the toothmelt, explained the German Society for Dental, Mouth and Jelly Clinics. Important is a quick dental visit.

According to the President of the German Society for Pediatric Dentistry, Norbert Krämer, suffer from about 10 to 15 percent of children in chalk teeth on average. A new study has demonstrated even 30 percent of crude teeth under twelve years of age. Cretaceous teeth should therefore be referred to as a new national disease, Krämer said. The disease, Molare-Inzisive Hypomineralization (MIH), was described for the first time in 1987.

First tooth damage was reported to the medical associations already registered for unborn in the eighth pregnancy month. At present, various causes are discussed. Problems occur during pregnancy, infectious diseases, antibiotics, wind pox, influenza dioxins, and upper airways. In animal experiments, a connection between the plasticizer Bisphenol-A and chalk teeth was detected. The precise cause is considered unclear, the associations are writing.

The White-yellowish to yellow-brown surface is on individual toothbrushes to find or to cover the entire surface of the tooth. The teeth break in part. Regular dental visits, cleaning fluoride-containing toothpaste at home, flouridlack treatments at the doctor, and setting up broken teeth could help them, said Stefan Zimmer, president of the German Society for Preventive Dentistry.
