Dr Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Fayoum, honors the team of Al-Gharib School for Basic Education, which is affiliated with Senouris Educational Administration, the winner of the first place in the Arab world with the initiative “Arab Reading Challenge”, in the presence of Drs.

During the meeting, the Governor of Fayoum stated that the state has around intellectuals who are keen on science and knowledge, and expresses his happiness to meet the students and teachers of Al-Gharib School because they have a examples are to follow in the persistence of reading and erudition, as well as their active participation in the initiative “Arab Reading Challenge” organized by the United Arab Emirates United.

The governor pointed to the coordination with the Ministry of Immigration for the participation of the school in the presidential initiative “Speak Arabic”, aimed in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to organize a cultural trip for school students around the Museum of Civilization to visit and the Library of Alexandria, in addition to organizing a book fair at the school.

The governor also instructed to investigate and study the offer of state property in the village to establish a public library over it, and to urgently supply a group of books in various sciences to the school library, with the emphasis on the connection between the knowledge students gain from reading and reading and its impact on their lives and their scientific excellence.

The governor of Fayoum added that the governor spared no effort to stand by all the talent among the talented people, and pointed out the need for the school to be at the heart of making Al-Gharib village a “village without illiteracy”, in order to ‘ t it a distinct school, and work to make the village the capital of reading in the governor.

He stressed the students to continue reading and reading, and profiting from the knowledge they are exposed to, and stressed scientific excellence as a positive return for erudition.

It is worth noting that the “Arab Reading Challenge” initiative was launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai, to encourage reading among students in ‘ the Arab world. During this fifth session, 96,000 schools participated in the competition.

Al-Gharib School consisted of 970 male and female students representing all stages of primary education, and each student read from 50 to 100 books according to his stage of education and age.

The books were selected according to each educational stage, and each student made a summary for each book he read.

During the meeting, the Governor of Fayoum listened to a presentation in classical Arabic of summaries of a number of books for some students, as well as a presentation of their artistic abilities in national anthems.

At the end of the meeting, the Governor of Fayoum issued certificates of appreciation to a number of students, teachers and administrators, in addition to giving the school the Governor’s shield in appreciation for its role in providing the Arabic language, and in educating young people love reading and learning.
