The Samsung W2019 offers cutting-edge technology based on the S9 series from the beginning of the year, but like last year, the Galaxy S series is likely to provide a preview of the next year's smartphone series. Therefore, at least the configuration of the camera which can be seen on Samsung Galaxy S10 is seen here.
W2019: Samsung reissued a luxurious folding phone.
Like the last year's Samsung W2018, the new W2019 has two 4.2-inch displays on the outside and inside of the flip lid. Both products are very high resolution with 1920×1080 pixels and each product uses SuperAMOLED screen manufactured by Samsung itself. Most other other current Samsung devices are still in the form of capacitive buttons, and still have the classic Android button here under the outer screen.
It works internally, via a touch screen or via a hardware keyboard, which basically facilitates the difficult input of Chinese characters in the touch device. In addition to the "Back", "Multitasking", "Home" and "Copy" buttons that are executed as hardware buttons, there is a multi-directional D pad with an add button in the middle.
The latest form factor to excite curiosity
The W2019 is currently based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 Octacore SoC, and high-end SoCs can be found in other top smartphones in 2018, up to 2.8 GHz. It consists of 6 gigabytes of memory and 128 or 256 gigabytes of internal flash memory, is based on the UFS 2.1 standard and can be extended to a microSD card slot.
A small outlook on the future of the Galaxy S10 series will probably provide the rear camera unit of the W2019. Again there are two 12 megapixel sensors, one of which offers variable aperture (F / 1.5 – F / 2.4). This is now called "Smart Iris" (Google Translate), and you should be able to automatically select the correct aperture size using features in the artificial intelligence field. Obviously, this is not clear because of the lack of knowledge of Chinese.
The obvious thing is that the Samsung W2019's dual camera offers dual optical zoom and can record up to 60 frames per second of 4K video. There is also an optical image stabilizer implemented in hardware. Other features include Bluetooth 4.2, dual band Gigabit Wi-Fi, NFC and USB-C ports. The fingerprint reader is on the case side, but Samsung does not use headphone jacks like last year.
USB-C: USB 3.1 Gen1 capable port, as well as a 3070mAh capacity battery is also used for charging. All of the great displays around the two displays and a large battery ensure a huge weight of 257 grams with metal frame. When folded, the W2019 boasts a thickness of 17.3 mm.
The operating system is still Android 8.1 "Oreo", and Samsung uses a highly customized design. It is also interesting that the Klapphandy luxury service is sold along with a special subscription service that provides a car with a healthy owner, driver or other support on request. The cost of the Samsung W2019 is 18,999 yuan, equivalent to 2410 euros ($ 2,730).
