The Lenzing Group builds its focus on sustainability and supports several initiatives made by global companies that are committed to better climate protection. These initiatives are directed at the government members who will meet this week on Climate Change in Katowice to advance the Paris 2015 climate change.
Lenzing's CEO, Stefan Doboczky, has signed an open letter as member of the WEF CEO, who provides and promotes greater cooperation with governments and other stakeholders. This letter has signed 50 senior executives who engage in the World Economic Forum (WEF) for climate-based corporate governance and represent $ 1.5 trillion.
"In the change to a climate-driven economy with low greenhouse gas emissions, the private sector is more important than ever before. The conducive partnerships with other companies, governments and civil society. The Lenzing Group addresses its role as a sustainable player as a specialty fiber manufacturer in the entire textile industry and cosmetic and hygiene industries, helping to reach the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement 2015, "says Stefan Doboczky, CEO of the Lenzing Group. "Together with our partners, we focus on solutions that can be quickly implemented. One of these is the conversion of coal-fired boilers to gas boilers at our Nanjing Chinese site, which we have just started. "
The second initiative supported by the Lenzing Group is the Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action, featuring 43 companies, including leading fashion brands and textile manufacturers today in Katowice. The Charter emphasizes the key role played by the fashion industry as an issuer and as an avid of greenhouse gases.
"To meet the charter of the fashion industry for climate change with life, the signatories work in decarbonization of production, the selection of climate-friendly materials and the poorer transport, and the development of models of circulatory management," says Robert van de Kerkhof, and sales manager of the Lenzing Group. "The Lenzing Group is ready to take on the challenges of the industry and to engage in leadership by lowering its CO2 emissions by 30 percent by 2030. With the REFIBRATM technology, the Lenzing Group is already offering a particularly effective circuitry model that uses blankets made from cotton clothing production as a raw material to produce a new, high-quality fiber.
