Sydney's teacher accused of having sex with student

A male teacher has been accused of having sexually abused a female student at a Bondi school in Sydney.

Detective investigators reported that a teenage girl, at the age of 17, was sexually assaulted by a male teacher in 2018 at Reddam House in Bondi, a spokesman from AAP on AAP told Tuesday.

Ben Fenner, 34, was arrested on July 19 in a Mascot cafe and accused of 11 counts of sexual intercourse with a person under his care.

He was given strict guarantee to appear at Downing Center Local Court on August 26.

The accused, who was part of the higher education staff at Reddam House, was relegated to all duties, said a school spokesman in a statement.

"We are most concerned about this cover and want parents, students and everyone in the school community to ensure that Reddam considers this issue extremely serious," said the spokesman on Tuesday.

“Pending resolution of the court procedure, the involved teacher will not play any further role at the school. This is now a matter for the court. ”

The former student recently made a police report after studying last year.

The accusations were also addressed by the school in a newsletter sent to parents.

"We intend to support the former student and minimize their impact on them and on a broad school community."

Reddam House is one of the top performing schools in Sydney and tuition can cost $ 30,000 for senior students.
