KZN man arrested on suspicion of murder, alleged sexual assault of two-year-old stepdaughter

Police said Saturday that KwaZulu-Natal men were arrested on suspicion of murder and indicted for raping his stepdaughter.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Hlabisa Magistrate court on Monday and was arrested a month after his departure while hiding in Buxedene in Nongoma.

According to police spokesman Thembeka Mbele, the 2-year-old was assaulted with wooden sticks because he "spoiled himself" on October 14th.

"She had a gunshot wound on her head and the suspect reported the matter to the police, arguing that the deceased had been shot by two unknown men.

"He was involved in murder with intense investigation."

Mbhele said the man is going to be indicted and is expected to appear in Umzumbe Magistrate 's Court soon.
